Halberry Head

Probably most famous for Halberry Castle that appears to have taken over from Castle Gunn.  During the 14th and 15th centuries the Gunn chiefs lived here.  this site is about one mile further south than the original Gunn Castle.  The last chief to live in Halberry was George Gunn also known as Cronner of Caithness.  It was during his time that the bitter feud between the Keiths of Ackergill and the Gunns
