Mr Richard-Jones said, "the Co-op community Dividend fund was created to support projects of this type, where members of the community work together on schemes that enhance facilities for the disadvantaged.  We were impressed with the total commitment of the play areas group and their ambitious plans for innovative and exciting play equipment.  The Co-op wishes the local children hours of happiness and fun in their new playground.

Wick Play Areas Community Group
The group was set up following a  public meeting in the Assembly Rooms on 1/5/01 with the intention of looking at ways to improve the play areas within the town of Wick

It was proposed to do this in two ways:

  1. To raise funds locally and further afield to upgrade the parks in a rolling programme.

  2. To lobby the Highland Council to spend more money so as to halt the decline of these facilities.
