The Viewfirth is, as it's name suggest, a club that is supported by Dounreay that was primarily intended to be used by UKAEA employees who moved to Caithness from the south when Dounreay first started, as a social gathering place where they could mix with local employees and make new friends.

Over the years the membership base has open up to the  point where anyone can join as an associate member, and anyone who works at either the Dounreay or Vulcan sites, whether they be full time staff or contractor, being eligible for full membership.

The club offers a wide range of activities from our ever popular bingo sessions three times a week, to bowling in the winter months. There is also the very popular Dounreay Fly Fishing Association, some members of which have gone on to compete at national level. We also have the facilities of 3 snooker tables, 3 function areas, pool table, darts and of course the bar is open 7 days a week.

Over recent years the membership using the club, along with other clubs in Thurso, has grown lesser, to such a point that the future of the club may no longer guaranteed. In fact for the last 10 years the UKAEA, who own the ground on which the club is situated, has had the committee on 1 months notice at any time to quit the premises. As of this we have been  looking at other ways for the club to survive, and this is the reason that I am contacting you.
