WELCOME BACK…..
……. to another busy term. There’s lots to fit in to the 12 weeks – Music Festival, School trips, Sports Day to name but a few. Here’s a couple dates for your diary:

12 May – Report cards to be issued
31 May/1 June – Parents’ Evenings
31 May – Proposed date for Sports Day
15 June – Interschool Sports

SCHOOL CLOSURES
· The school will be closed for the May Day holiday on Monday, 2 May.
· Mount Pleasant Primary School is to be a polling station for the general election on 5 May. Therefore,
  THE SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED TO PUPILS ON THIS DAY.

ADMINISTRATION OF MEDICATION INFORMATION
We are still awaiting a few parental acknowledgement slips. Please return these to the office as soon as possible. If you have lost or misplaced the original notification, please contact Hilary at the office and a new copy will be issued.

SCOTTISH AMBULANCE “SAVE A LIFE” TEAM
The Scottish Ambulance’s Save a Life team will be visiting the school on Thursday, 12 May to teach primary 7 pupils some training in basic lifesaving skills.

EDINBURGH TRIP
Miss Fraser and I will be taking pupils from primary 7 to Edinburgh from Monday,
25 April for the week. Mr W Sutherland (parent) will be accompanying us to drive the minibus. I would like to thank Mr Sutherland for giving his time in this way. The teacher covering primary 1 will be Mrs Grundy.

SEU STAFFING
I am pleased to say that Ms Marie Stronach has joined us this term to be the teacher in the Special Education Unit until the summer break. We are also being joined on a temporary basis by Mrs Kay Sanders as an auxiliary.

PTA NEWS
Copies of PTA minutes are available on the website and also on the notice board outside the office.

SCHOOL BOARD
The winner of this month’s prize draw was Mrs E Alexander (Sarah, P5, James, Nursery).
Copies of School Board minutes are available on the website and also on the notice board outside the office. The next meeting will be held at 7.00 pm on Monday, 9 May.

· Aluminium Cans
