families the ability to be together at what is often a difficult time. in
a homely and private environment.
It is hoped that the Macmillan Cancer Cancer

NEW PALLIATIVE CARE CLINIC
We are pleased to announce the establishment of a new palliative care
clinic. This will be held in the Macmillan Oncology suite once a month,
commencing on Friday 24th September 2004. Referrals should be by letter to
one of the Consultants. The purpose of this clinic is to see patients with
cancer or other advanced diseases, who have palliative care needs which
can most appropriately be assessed on an out-patient basis. We will
monitor the function of the clinic closely over the first year. The
current in-patient service will continue as before and occasional urgent
out-patient referrals can be accommodated on an ad-hoc basis.
