 UPDATE

John Thurso and the H&S Executive have been chasing up Maxi’s mess and seem to be making some headway.
Katrina attended a meeting with Mr Whitelaw, Jim Oag and John Rosie – the first one giving them an update on how we are progressing the second meeting was on how we could progress.  They have decided to facilitate a partnership of organisation who can help with the association.  They will sit outside the partnership and representatives from the organisation will site on the partnership.  These representatives will act on behalf of the organisation taking their ideas forward and feeding them back to the group.  The group will be responsible for deciding on projects outside the agency and attract funding from national charities like the lottery or the Tudor to name but a few.  Also looking into having an entertainment group set up to look at organising small fund raising events and organise outings/parties/fireworks.  10 people to be asked to be in this group.

Katrina has also applied to the councillors discretionary fund for start up money.

A meeting is to be arranged with Eann Sinclair from CASE to discuss funding to either buy or lease the land at the back of the distillery.  David Dunnett to try and find out how much land there is available.

 BREAKFAST CLUB/HOMEWORK CLUB

Pat Bowers and Katrina had a meeting about the club and are currently looking at different options such as 4 part time staff – morning and night.  There will be approx. 30 places and fee to be agreed upon.  This club will be open to all children on a first come first enrolled basis.

 NEXT MEETING

Mr Whitelaw has been invited to come a meeting within his Highland Council capacity.  This to be agreed.

 AGM
Tuesday 8th October date has been set for the AGM. David McDermott has been asked to attend. He has agreed.  Also written to Margaret Current who is the Social Justice Minister but she has not been back in touch with us.  Also written to Dounreay and Rockwater to see if they will sponsor our AGM.

The meeting was closed with no other business.

 Next meeting – Wednesday 25th September 2002 at 7pm.
