People of Latheron and surrounds are invited to a Ceilidh on 29th December to celebrate the opening of the new hall which is almost completed.  Bobby Coghill and Trio will play at the celebration.  the hall id due to be handed over by the contractors O'Brien Construction on 22 December.
The £272,000 project comprised of funding from The National Lottery, Scottish Executive, Highland Council and the Enterprise Network.  Local fundraising amounted to £40,000 and a further local effort raised funds to help with furnishing the building.  Local publisher Keith whittles has been singled out for praise by the chairman Jim McGregor as playing the main role in grant applications.  But it had been a real community effort and the hall will be used by many local organisations.
