Caithness Heritage Fair 2007

Caithness Heritage Fair 2007 - Bigger Than Ever
As it is the year Scotland celebrates Highland Culture this year’s Heritage Fair is hoped to be bigger and better than ever. With over 35 participants already confirmed it is looking like it is going to be a big Fair. Confirmed participants include North Highland Archive, UKAEA, Caithness Archaeological Trust and many more. As well as all the interesting display stands there will be live entertainment from Wick Pipe Band, children’s activities, craft displays, music from Caithness FM, refreshments and much more.

10th and 11th November
The Heritage Fair is taking place on 10th and 11th November in the Assembly rooms. All local primary and secondary schools are taking part as part of their Highland Promise pledge. The Fair will be open from 11-4pm on Saturday and 1 – 4pm on Sunday.

Lady Thurso will be opening the event on Saturday and Education Culture and Sport Director Hugh Fraser will be attending the fair along with Head of Community Learning services, Ian Murray.

The Heritage Fair allows members of the public to discover the history and inspiration behind local organisations. During previous fairs there has been superb work from local schools along with a wide range of photos, videos and memorabilia from various organisations which are all relevant to the history and heritage of Caithness. Past participants of the Heritage Fair include, The Heritage Society, Caithness FM, Caithness History Society, Caithness Crafts Association and many more.

In previous years the two-day event has attracted over 1700 visitors and event organiser are determined to better this for the year of culture. Come along and show your support, entrance if free.
