Julian Smith at St John's Pool has sent ini this photo of a Sandwich Tern that arrived on30th April but died on 1st May 2008 presumably from oil while trying to preeen itself. There is suspicion that a recent find of oil and tar balls at Sinclairs Bay is connected. An unknown ship passing through the Pentland Firth is thought to have vented its tanks into the sea
