Thurso Business Takes Whisky Range Online
A small family owned and run grocers in Thurso, J A Mackay, has recently launched a new e-commerce website to market their products.

As the domain name of the website suggests - www.getwhisky.com  the emphasis is on their amazing selection of whisky, ranging from highly sought after Scottish malts to unusual brands from faraway places like New Zealand.

Andy Costello of J A Mackay, said: "J A Mackay has been providing the very best of Scottish produce to customers for over 70 years and due to increasing requests by customers to send goods via mail order, we have decided to offer our services online.

"Our comprehensive range includes all the fine malt you would expect in a specialist shop, including many rare and collectable bottlings, single cask and cask strength expressions."

With over 200 varieties of real ale in stock and an extensive range of Scottish country wines and gift hampers getwhisky.com  offers people throughout the UK the chance to enjoy the best of Scottish produce.

Caithness and Sutherland Enterprise (CASE) invested in the cost of developing the site. Keith Muir, development manager with CASE, commented: "The aim of this project was to create a full on-line shopping facility with on-line database to promote sales of a range of specialist whiskies and wines to a wider UK market as well as consolidating their existing business.

"It seems the site has proved very popular and is generating a lot of new custom."
