Kite Buggy Courses At Dunnet Beach
The first Kite Buggy courses got underway at Dunnet Beach today.  Grant Golding one of Scotland's few qualified kite buggy instructors is in Caithness for a few days running the courses.  This exciting sport requires a great deal of skill and dexterity but the basics can be learnt within a couple of hours.   Soon you can be racing up and down the beach with wind power pulling you along.   High speeds can be attained depending on wind conditions.  However the wind conditions today were very low and great for beginners.   Grant has a range of wind kites and chooses appropriate sizes of kites to match wind speed and the ability of the folk learning to buggy.

There are still a couple of places left on the courses for Sunday.  The cost is £40 for five hours.  all equipment is supplied.  If you are interested in this growing sport and would like to learn how to do it before buying any equipment contact grantgolding@hotmail.com  Grant is also running courses in other parts of Scotland.  He intends to come back to Caithness next year to run courses as the beach at Dunnet is a great place for the sport and was once used for sand yachting.
