Slipknot On Caithness FM

This week on Caithness FM’s Friday night rock show will feature an interview with American band Slipknot.  Neil Macgregor travelled to Glasgow on February 14th to interview the band from Des Moines, Iowa.  Guitarist Jim Root talks openly about the band, their influences, their latest tour and upcoming releases.

Slipknot have been together since 1999 and consist of nine masked protagonists who blast our angst-filled metal.  Winners of the Kerrang magazine Best Band award, they have a big following amongst the “nu-metal” fraternity – especially among younger fans.

There second album “Iowa” was released in late 2001 reaching No. 1 in the national charts in both the Usand Britain. Curretnly in the middle of a world tour, their new single “My Plague” is due for release in April and will feature on the soundtrack of the new “Resident Evil” film.
