The former Milk Marketing Board building next to the Wick railway station has been demolished to build up to eight new private houses.   Demolition work is moving quickly to remove the rubble that lies where the building stood.

Planning permission was granted in November 2003 for the change of use of the site which includes the Milk Marketing Board area and land acquired from Network Rail which is currently unused.

The company Trackside Developments will knock the building down, build an access road and put in services for up to eight houses.  The location is next to the new Police Station and is looking out into the countryside.  Its central location and its proximity to the open country is likely to make it a sought after location.  It is only a few hundred yards into Wick and yet is in a relatively quiet area as there is no through road.   The two trains a day are unlikely to be a problem.
