Round Table Sportsman Evening
Thurso and District Round Table recently organised a Sports Dinner in aid of local charities on the 17 May held at the New Weigh Inn.  The event had a capacity attendance with 160 tickets being sold.  The Guest Speaker for the evening were ex-Scottish Football Internationalists, (King) Joe Harper and Alan Rough.  The evening was compared by Dave Edwards. 

The Sponsors for the evening were UKAEA, C&W Motors and W&D Ross. A reception was held for the Sponsors and Guest Speakers prior to the Formal Proceedings.   The evening consisting of Lucky Prize Winner, Dinner, Speakers, Auction and Raffle.  Chairman Graham Douglas welcomed everyone to the function and introduced the Top Table.

The Auction of Sports memorabilia was conducted by Retired Auctioneer and Rotarian, Mr Ian Thompson.  The bidding was fast and furious for some sought after items.

The evenings net takings were approximately 3000 which will be distributed to Local Sports Organisations to promote and assist with Youth Development.  On conclusion of the evening, Chairman Graham Douglas gave a Vote of Thanks to the Organising Committee, Speakers and everyone else for their contribution to a successful evening.

The event was hailed a resounding success and Thurso and District Round Table would like to thank all the Sponsors, Keith Dreaves (New Weigh Inn), Ian Thompson, Dave Edwards and the public for their continued and valued support.
