Aircraft Fire At Wick

AIRCRAFT INCIDENT - WICK

About 1615 hours on Friday 14th September 2001 an Eastern Airways Jetstream 31 aircraft was on the apron at Wick Airport preparing to depart for Aberdeen.  The aircraft contained two (2) crew and five (5) passengers. At this time a small fire occurred in the port engine exhaust can. The crew immediately extinguished the fire by using on board fire emergency procedures. 

Airport fire tenders and other emergency services were quickly on the scene.  

The crew and passengers were evacuated from the aircraft to the main terminal.  There were no injuries of any kind.
