Alan Humphries led a walk one Sunday starting at Cairn of Get for the archaeology trust. The area is rich in archaeological sites from many periods. Several days of walking are required to reach all of the sites in the area. On this day the group followed a well known route from Loch Watenan to the cairn of Get, past the dam and up the Hill Fort. Along the way Lime Kilns were noted from different eras. A cist was examined and round to broch and other cairn sites. The sunny day allowed great views to the coast. |
