News - Ride 4th December - Dunnet Beach
Some members of the CRAG committee are planning to meet up for a ride on
Dunnet Beach at 11am on Sunday December 4th, weather permitting, parking
at the Pavillion. Please feel free to come and join us if you would like
to do so and we will hope for a good day with no gales or snow!'
News - UPDATE ON TRACKS
The surface of the new
track that goes from the Thrumster-Wick side to join the Camster-Achairn
forest road is to be up-graded this month so that the Forestry Commission
can harvest their Christmas trees. There will be some obvious disruption
while this work is in progress and during the extraction of the trees but
we should end up with a much better surface on this track, which up until
now has been rough and stony. Watch this space for a CRAG ride there next
spring.

CRAG AGM Sat 13th
August 2005 8pm
Brown Trout at Watten
It is that time of year again- the CRAG AGM! Sadly, this year we are
losing some of our existing committee members due to various other
commitments so if we are to continue, we need to attract some fresh faces
with new ideas on Access to come along and join us. As you all know, or
maybe some of you don't, we were set up in August 2002 with the aim of
improving off road access for horse riders. Since then we have been very
successful in acting as a pressure group to facilitate the opening up of a
number of tracks with the co-operation of land owners, the Highland
Council and various other parties. At the moment, we are working on other
tracks and paths around the county to provide more safe off road access,
not only for horse riders but
for all outdoor users.
You may think it is all
hard work and no play but this is certainly not the case. We organise
various fun rides and most recently we held a series of sponsored rides
for the Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust which is a member of the 2005
charitable initiative, Make Poverty History Campaign. Between the
sponsored ride and selling the charity's white rosettes, we raised well
over £500.
So if you enjoy meeting
new people and a challenge please come along, join our committee and make
a difference to your off road access. Our AGM is being held in the Brown
Trout at Watten on Sat 13th August @8pm. We look forward to seeing you
there!!!
