The
Architectural Heritage Society For Scotland
The AHSS is the national amenity body for
the study and protection of Scotland's built heritage, and we have local
community-based groups across Scotland, including your area.
Members also get a magazine and a journal, up-dating them on current
issues, while we can help in planning issues when listed buildings or
conservation areas (or any wider issues attached to the built heritage)
occur. We have some 1500 members across Scotland, and organise
many events that may be of interest locally.Scottish

Sir Basil Spence
In 2003, 40,000 items were gifted by the Spence family to
RCAHMS, comprising drawings, files, photographs, models and documents
charting his career, as well as a wealth of personal papers and letters.
This unique archive was made available for the first time in August by
RCAHMS, in partnership with the National Galleries of Scotland (NGS) and
The Lighthouse, Scotland's National Centre for Architecture, Design and
the City.
