The pupils of Hillhead School, Wick have been building a project to show fishing and their family connections to the fishing industry in Caithness.

There was jubilation at the harbour when the skipper and crew of Wick fishing boat "Boy Andrew" returned to port, complete with a case of champagne given to them by the Wood Group to celbrate there landing a record catch at Peterhead. The catch grossed £45,071, which almost doubl3ed the previous record of £28600 set by the Eyemouth boat Auriga, last year. The Boy Andrew gained the record for the most boxes landed by a seine net vessel - 1180 boxes of white fish, mainly haddock. Skipper Andrew Bremner (23), 4 Lindsay Drive, Wick and his young crew (their average age is in the middle twenties) set our from Scrabster and , after five days fishing very stormy conditions around the Pentland Firth, Orkney and the Bressay Bank, they were able to land their record catch at Peterhead on the second day the market was open after the New Year holidays.
