Following the landing of a car shell trawled up 40 miles off Shetland at Scrabster, I am curious to hear of other unusual objects found at sea or on the beaches.  The most unusual will be put on this page.

How about an upper part of a human skull, trawled up and landed at Arbroath. We gave it a Christian sea burial from the local lifeboat, vicar, full ceremony the lot. And that after a police investigation.

Or a few months earlier, a cannon ball found on Montrose Beach. Identified later to have been fired by an English ship at the town of Montrose because they had done something that the English didn't like. (Beat them at football I presume). Object given to the local Museum.
