Schools In Caithness
This list may not be complete and is open to suggestions for updating with further information

North Highland Archive holds many records for the schools in the list including Minute Books Attendance Registers, log books and inventoriesWhere schools still exist they may hold the early records themselves.
At different periods there was more than one school in some areas even what are now regarded as low population areas reflecting the changes.  The 1870 - 1872 Ordnance Survey map shows 79 schools in the county.  By 1924 there were 68 schools listed as active in education records.  The schools in this list are from the North Highland Archive listing.
