Leaders Needed 1st Wick Scouts is growing, and with the recent increase in numbers we need adults willing to help. If you have a skill you would like to share (canoeing, abseiling, crafts etc), would like to help on the committee or would like to become a Scout, Cub or Beaver Leader please contact the Scouts on wick_scouts@yahoo.co.uk or visit us on Friday evenings 7-9:00 at the Wick Scout Hall on Kirk Hill. Marie Curie Cancer Care Daffodil Campaign Volunteers Wanted March 2005 If you can spare a few hours on that day to help with collections at supermarkets or collecting boxes then you should contact the organiser Karen Milne email karen.milne@mariecurie.org.uk Tel 01463 238328 Caithness.org has supported this charity for the last three years and we personally turn up at the Wick shops to help with the collections. but people are needed in a number of areas including Caithness, Sutherland, Wester-Ross, Lochaber and Argyll. Neurological Group Volunteer At the Nerve Centre - Wick and Thurso The Patients Council examines these services from the view point of the patient and, where needed, makes changes to improve patients’ experiences of the health service. Lend Young People Hand This Winter Winter is coming and many young peoples groups are looking for help over the winter months. From uniformed groups to youth groups they all need help in supervising activities. so if you can spare a few hours a week get in touch with any one of the many groups in your area. Wick Town Events Committee The Wick Town Events group are looking for volunteers to assist them in getting events organised. Its real practical stuff - erecting the stage in the town square and putting up the PA system. As more vents are planned for this year it is a necessary job and the committee is working on the usual shoestring. It would not take too ling setting up and later clearing it away again at either end of the event. If there were more than a few people a rota could be set up. If you would like to help (don't be shy) contact the Wick Project office in the High Street. People are needed on the Saturday usually about 9.30am and later in the day when events are on.
