Gunn's Of Lybster are well ahead with work on the new Wick Business Park infrastructure.  Caithness & Sutherland Enterprise are very pleased with the progress of the scheme and expect it to be completed by the end of the summer.

New Wick Business Park Is Underway

The new Wick Business Park has begun in earnest.  The initial phase of the contract worth £1 million in total will cover 12.5 acres at Lochshell and completion is due near the end of 2001. 

The work is being carried out by John Gunn & Sons of Lybster following the award of the contract by Caithness & Sutherland Enterprise.  The site is expected to open up opportunities for local businesses as well as for external companies looking for excellent facilities in the northern Highlands.

Positioned on the outskirts of Wick it has the benefit of being less than five minutes from the airport and with modern telecommunications now available with fibre optic cabling and training facilities at Thurso College offering employers the chance to get training for employees via the new computer suite recently installed.

The new facilities will be a welcome boost to the area providing the most up to date premises for new job creation as well as helping local businesses to locate in modern surroundings and provide for expansion.
